Technical Help
Charging:
Charge your battery when you receive it. Your battery should not be left empty for more than 1 month. Batteries should be stored at or near full charge and should be recharged every 3 months to prevent under voltage condition. Some batteries may be able to go longer. If your battery is near the minimum voltage stated on the sticker it needs to be charged.
One red and one green light means your charger is in open circuit (charging complete)
Double red light means your charger is charging the battery
When the cell bank with the highest voltage exceeds 4.2v, the BMS opens the charge circuit to prevent overcharging. After a short period of time the cell voltage naturally drops below 4.2v and charging occurs again until 4.2v is exceeded. This cycle takes place until the cell holds above 4.2v. Charge cycling at the end of the charging process is normal. You may see the lights cycle as the charge process completes.
Fardriver Controller:
Bluetooth Connection
Controllers labeled BT or with a K in the model number have internal bluetooth and are not compatible with external Bluetooth dongle.
Fardriver is compatible with both iOS and Android. Controller must beep when powered on and Bluetooth dongle must flash before you can connect with your mobile device.
ND72450 controllers purchased before June 2026 must use Gdriver App for parameter changes. WeChat update will eventually damage the controller permanently.
Speed and torque adjustment
Speed and torque are programmable for each speed switch setting. This means you can independently set max speed and torque for all three switch positions. Kits come with instructions for torque and speed adjustment from your mobile device.
Controller Restore and Reset
Controllers are programable for many different combinations of motors, throttles, and batteries. If you purchase a kit, your controller was programmed for your specific combination. If you reset or restore the program, you will clear the parameters needed for your controller to function properly and it will need to be reprogrammed.
Autolearn
Autolearn must be performed to teach the controller the motor configuration before use. Autolearn should be performed with the chain off and motor bolted down. Select the Autolearn function from the graph page, after the controller starts to beep hold the throttle at full the entire time. The motor will run rough and change directions during the process. When Autolearn is complete your motor will stop spinning, controller will beep, and the app will show a throttle alarm. At this point release the throttle and Autolearn is complete. You can reassemble the chain and ride. If during autolearn your motor stumbles and stops after twisting the throttle, release and try again up to 4 attemps. After the forth attempt, swap blue and green phase wires and repeat. Trying to ride before completing the autolearn process or after resetting the controller can result in controller damage.
Motors:
Motor shafts are left handed thread.
Motors can handle more power than rated if motor temperature protection is properly set in the controller.
The unused fourth mounting bolt is a pathway for water to be drawn in and should be plugged.
